By now you’ve all heard the buzz
surrounding the release of the addi
interchangeable needle kit, the addi
Click and they have been selling like
hotcakes in the shop.

The addi Click system provides 10
different sizes of addi Turbo™ tips
(3.5mm - 10mm), three different
lengths of the new, extremely pliable
blue cord (24”, 32” and 40”), and
one connector piece which helps to
either store stitches or combine your
cords. The Click tips require no tools
to change; simply insert the cord
deep into the tip, twist and release.
The tips will remain secure until you
change them.

Accessories - extra cables($35.50)
and needle tips ($15.95) are now
available. Suggested retail for the
addi Click is $179.00, but we sell
them in the shop for $160.

Northbrook - "Drop and give me 10."

Sounds like something you might hear at a military
training camp, right? But on Saturday, August 23
and August 30th, it could also be heard at Log
Cabin Yarns in Northbrook. Only, in this case, the 10
in question could be either stitches or rounds, as in
"Knit 10 rounds."

This boot camp didn't require getting muddy or
sweaty, just the desire to learn several new
techniques for knitting socks. Drill sergeant Nancy
Fradenburgh, owner of Log Cabin, had her whistle
ready to keep her knitting recruits in line, but the
troops didn't seem to mind. In fact, everyone
seemed to have a great time practicing on the
sample socks.

Some of the techniques the recruits got to try
included knitting two socks at once, toe up, top
down using the magic loop method on circular
needles.

"Our recruits ranged in age from 13 to 81"
Fradenburgh said. "All were eager and willing
participants in the Boot Camp. Recruits came from
as far away as Kingston, Tweed, Gananoque and
Belleville, and we had many local residents take
part."

Anyone interested in knitting, crocheting or any
other kind of stitching is welcome to come to the
knitting group that meets from 1:30 pm until 4 pm
Wednesday year round.
For more information, contact Log Cabin Yarns at
